Hunters or hunted

Gunnar had started to realize that something more serious was underway at thag moment. Defensiveness aside, he leaned toward Jeff. "I think it's time to go." Whispered the man as he heard the hiss. It was literal in every definition of the word and it was aomething Gunnar knew he would never forget.

Jeff nodded agreeing with his friend.

"Well.." Mr. Heartlock nodded. "I have a deal."
"Oh?" The janitor smiled. It was awkward, like he wasn't used to it. "What would that be?"
"We... run and get out of here... and you." There was a small pop as the flask opened. "GO BACK TO HELL!"
Mr. Heartlock flicked the flask at the man, and a clear liquid splashed on the man.
The second it hit the man smoke poured out as the water burned away. The scream that the man made felt like two people were screaming at once, one highpitch like a animal and the other normal. The janitor was clawing at his face and chest trying to get the water off faster.

"FUCK THIS!" Jeff turned and ran. His first instinct was to attack and hit the man, but whatever that acid was he didn't want it near him.
"GO!" Mr. Heartlock encouraged them to run as he splashed the man again then turned and followed.

Standing there for a split second longer than Jeff as he tried to understand what exactly was happening, before hearing Heartlock yelling for them to go. That was all he needed as he turned and thundered down the hall after Jeff. Due the fact both of them were the same height and had enough adrenaline to kill a horse pumping through their veins, he caught up relatively quickly.

Gunnar couldn't even tell that Heartlock was behind them until he glanced back and saw the man sprinting behind him. "Which way?!" yelled the man at his friend as they came up on a T shaped hallway.

"Right!" Mr. Heartlock hugged the corner expertly as he ran. Jeff followed but he couldn't catch up. It wasn't that he wasn't fast, but that Mr. Heartlock was a great runner. He seemed so old and out of shape.

A yell. More like a primal scream echoed through the halls. It was horrifying. And behind them.

"Fucking fuck fucker!" Jeff yelled as he ran. As heartless as it was he knew Gunnar could run better then him so he didn't have trouble not looking back.

Somehow Heartlock had blown past him and Jeff taking the corner like a pro. 'Jesus fucking christ.' thought the man as he watched Jeff take the corner about the time the scream echoed through the hallway behind them. A new surge of adrenaline pumped it's way into his blood as he took the corner as well. "Hurry the fuck up, Jeff!" yelled the man as he started pacing his friend.

He wasn't going to leave his friend behind, even if it meant he was the one who got caught by the completely mental janitor. This was starting to turn into one of those horror movies Jeff and himself watched whenever they hung out. Except this wasn't cheesy and he didn't know the outcome.

"I will fucking punch you!" Jeff said trying to keep up. He was never one for running.

Mr. Heartlock had reached a doorway and pushed it open, he turned and left it open for the two boys.
Jeff practically jumped through the door way as he reached it.

"Shut up and run!" yelled Gunnar as he saw Mr. Heartlock open a door in front of them as Jeff jumped through it. Sliding through it behind his friend and stopped. "Where.... Where now?" asked the man as he clutched at his sides. Lungs searing and chest burning as he looked around.

Mr. Heartlock grabbed a metal bar, pushed it through the door handle, and stuck the end behind a heater besides the door.

"No where." He said.
Jeff wasn't listening much as he was bent over trying to breath.
The door way was leading into the teachers lounge, and Mr. Heartlock's office.
He carefully adjusted the carpet on the ground in front of the door.
"I really doubt now is the time for interior decorating!" Jeff snapped at the man.

"I'm saving our asses!" Mr. Heartlock yelled back.

"And you're doing a bang up job, ya fuck!" spoke Gunnar through ragged breaths as he willed his lungs and chest to stop burning. Standing straight with his fingers laced behind his head to cause his lungs to inhale fully. Tapping Jeff on the shin with his boot, he motioned with his hands that he should do the same. "Helps make em quit hurting." spoke Gunnar as sure enough his lungs started to cease the burning sensation he was feeling.

"Shut the hell up!" Mr. Heartlock barked.
"Now back up! Go!" He waved them both away from the door, before Jeff could try out what Gunnar had told him.

Jeff backed up quickly, he hit his tail bone loudly on a table. "Son of a fuck." He cursed.

BAM

Someone had tried to break down the door.

Mr. Heartlock reached into his pocket, pulling out his leather bound book, Jeff never saw him put it away, and the metal flask of the acid from before.

Jumping as the sound of someone hitting the door could be heard, Gunnar backed up with Jeff as he heard his friend curse. Glancing over he saw that he had smashed into a table. Despite the current situation, Gunnar still took the excuse to smile.

"Fuck. Fuck this. I need a fucking drink!" raged the man as he watched their teacher grab the book he carried and the metal flask he had splashed the janitor with earlier.

Mr.Heartlock ignored the students words.

The crack of the door could be heard as the beating on it continued.
Mr.Heartlock looked behind him at his students.
Jeff had finally gotten his knife out and was ready to fight with it.

The door made a cracking noise and significantly bulged inward.
"Don't worry." Mr.Heartlock's word sounded strangely calm at a time like this.
"Whatever happens. Just trust me."

The door finally broke under the assault. It hung slightly off it's hinges, the wood broken and scattered.
The janitor stepped in, his feet tracking something red onto the carpet.
"Oh. Good workout before a meal." The man snarled.

Mr. Heartlock stared at him without saying anything.

The man had a wicked smile on his face, like a insane person. He licked his lips, clenching and unclenching his fists.
Jeff stood there, his heart racing, waiting for someone to move.
The man was twitching. First his eye twitched slightly. Like he was trying to wink but was failing. He started moving his neck to the left and right quickly. His legs were bouncing in place, but he wasn't moving or charging.

"....aahh... aaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHH!" A cry of anger tore from the mans throat.
"YOU FUCKING COWARD!" He screamed.

"No.. I'm just smart." Mr. Heartlock said in a matter of fact voice. He opened the leather bound book and began looking through the pages.

About the time that Jeff had retrieved his knife from his pocket, Gunnar had dug into his pocket for the Karambit that he wore at the small of his back underneath his shirt, slipping his fingers into the grip as he stared at the janitor before he stepped onto the carpet and seemed to become immobile.

Much like Jeff, Gunnar was completely frozen on the spot as he waited for something to happen. The screech that left the janitor's mouth was horrifying. It was at that time Mr. Heartlock pulled his leather book and started looking through the pages. Confusion, fear, and the desire for self preservation all flowed through the man in a chaotic flow.

Mr.Heartlock looked over his shoulder and took a double take at the two boys.
"Jesus christ. Put those things away." He shunned the two boys.
Jeff did no such thing but he was still confused.

"I'm not going to sit here and fucking let you piss on me!" The janitor yelled.

"Oh you're going to." The teacher said. "Because you have no choice."

Mr.Heartlock held the book out in front of him.

"Exorcizamus te, omnis immundus spiritus, omnis satanica potestas, omnis incursio infernalis adversarii, omnis legio, omnis congregatio et secta diabolica..."

If now was ever a time to freak the fuck out, Jeff was. His eyes grew wide at the cult like chanting.

"FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU" The janitor screamed and stomped his foot like a toddler having a tantrum.

"...Ergo, draco maledicte et omnis legio diabolica... "

The janitor kept a face of rage, pure rage, before he started coughing. It sounded like he was choking on his own spit.
Strands of saliva were dripping from his mouth, and something was seeping out of his mouth. Clouds of black smoke.

"... Ut Ecclesiam tuam secura tibi facias libertate servire, te rogamus, audi nos."

The smoke cloud shot out of the mans mouth, shooting into the ceiling like it was being discharged from a hose, powerful enough to shake the room. It sounded like the man was screaming.
The cloud was shooting around the room till it found the door and flew down the hallways twisting out of sight.

Jeff had unknowingly found himself on the floor, as he had fallen in the shaking of everything.
The table he had hit before was on it's side on the ground and countless papers were falling down to the floor.

Gunnar kept his knife firmly clutched in his fist despite what Heartlock said as he watched the scene before them. This was just like the cheesy horror flicks he and Jeff watched after school except for the fact it was very real. His eyes wide in fear and confusion as he watched the black clouds shoot from the janitor's mouth and the room began shaking.

Managing to set his feet to stay upright, he tried to catch Jeff as he fell though he failed knowing he would lose his balance if he extended any further. Finally the shaking became too much causing Gunnar to take a knee to stop from falling himself. The cloud shot out of the room and down the hallway. The events finally over, he glanced between Jeff, Mr. Heartlock, and the door of the room as he tried to digest everything that had just happened.

Mr.Heartlock closed the book, securing it shut with the leather strap.

He turned around and looked at the two students.

"Right." He said. "This never happened."
The teacher then turned on his heels, and walked out of the room.

Jeff stared at him leaving.
".... What?"

Much like Jeff, the man did the same himself. A quiet protest left his shocked form as he watched the teacher leave the room. Turning to Jeff with wide eyes, he started question his sanity. "Jeff.... What... The fuck just happened?" asked Gunnar as he glanced down at the karambit clutched in his fist. He hadn't even realized that he drew the blade.

"Well fuck." Jeff said. "Let me ask this fucking guy." Jeff waved his hand at the body of the janitor on the floor. "Because I'm sure he has as good of an idea, as I fucking do!" Jeff's hand shook about him as he yelled.
Jeff had a hard time getting up because his hand couldn't find a place on the table to push him up.
When he finally got to his feet, he looked around him. The place was a mess, and a body was laying on the ground.
If there was blood he'd think there was a murder. But he still didn't know if the guy on the ground was dead either.

"Yeah... That's a good idea." replied Gunnar as he stood and sheathed his knife. "That was fucking nuts..." mumbled the man as he dug into his pocket for a second and finally pulled a pack of cigarettes and a lighter. With shaking hands Gunnar finally got the cigarette into his mouth and lit it with a bit more difficulty. Taking a long drag of the tobacco, he inhaled it deeply and held it in his lungs for a second before exhaling it.

"Maybe we should ask Heartlock?" suggested the man as he pointed at the door with a shaking cigarette wielding hand.

"I'm pretty sure balls to the wall doesn't even begin to explain it" Jeff said.
He saw his friend smoking and was tempted to ask for some, cause he knew there was a story that it helped calm you down, but he doubt he would like the taste of smoke anyway.

"I don't even know where the fucker is he just left. What does he even plan to do with the fucking mess and the probably dead body here!" Jeff pointed at the very body again.

Despite the situation, Jeff's statement still caused Gunnar to chuckle as he lifted his still shaking hand to his lips to take another drag from the cigarette. As Jeff asked his question, he shrugged his shoulders in reply. "Who the hell knows?" asked the man as he took one more drag from the cigarette before dropping it on the ground and crushing the burning filter with his boot.

"We... We should probably get the fuck out of here." suggested the man as he pointed at the body, then the door. "I think we should find Heartlock and find out what the fuck just happened." stated the man in that tone of voice he knew his friend would recognize as the one that said he was set on the idea.

"Fucking ya think!?" Jeff hunched over slightly to catch a breath and comprehend the situation a little more.

"Ok. Yeah he's the only other fucking person who saw what the shit happened, and he caused half of it." Jeff kinda stated the obvious with that. "So, yeah. Where did he go though?" He asked his friend.

Looking at his friend as he shrugged his shoulders with as must exaggeration as he could in the simple gesture. "Because I fucking looked for him." replied the man as he looked at the door. "I think he dipped out toward the back doors. We should be able to catch him if we take the shortcut through the boiler room." said the man as he thought out loud.

Glancing at the body of the janitor. "How many of these crazy bastards you think there are running around the school?" asked Gunnar as he started out the door toward the boiler room.

"I'd fucking hope none after him!" Jeff said as he stepped over the man.

"Well if you're right and he's heading there where the fuck is he going? He can't just leave this shit here."
Jeff waved back the way they came.
"And and... what the fuck even happened dude? Like... literally spit ball whatever you want because it probably makes more sense then whatever just happened."

Gunnar thought for a moment after Jeff finished speaking. "Ummm..... Bad tofu?" asked the man with another shrug. "I think he intends to leave this shit all over the place." replied the man as he started at a slow jog down the hallway.
